16th SOPHIA Workshop PV-Module Reliability

April 23rd – 24th, 2026
INES – National Institute for Solar Energy,

Le Bourget-du-Lac, France

OBJECTIVES:
Future-proof PV modules and systems: Reliability across technologies, applications, and digitalization.

The Institut National de l'Énergie Solaire (INES, France) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE (Germany) invite you to the SOPHIA Workshop 2026. Following the great success at DTU Risø, Denmark, in 2025, we are pleased to announce that the 16th edition of the SOPHIA series will be hosted by INES in Le Bourget-du-Lac, France.

The workshop will be held in person and will address reliability topics related to the latest developments in PV-module technology.

This year’s workshop will dive deep into the most pressing topics shaping the future of PV :

🔅Performance certification of PV modules: Navigating new technologies, new standards, and new challenges.
🔅 Data-driven optimization of PV systems reliability: Harnessing digitalization, AI, and smart analytics for predictive performance.
🔅 Climate- and application-specific challenges in PV reliability: a two-part deep dive into how environment and use-case define PV reliability needs.
🔅 Reliability of PV modules for medium voltage applications: Innovations and risks in next-generation grid-scale PV.
